Google+ Launch Photography Competition

Google have launched a photography competition – Details Here – they have teamed up with the Saatchi Gallery, London to offer students in higher education around the globe a chance to showcase their work on the worldwide stage. ”We challenge you to come up with photographs that will make us laugh, cry, listen, hop on a plane, start a conversation, or start a revolution.”  The prize is “The photography trip of your dreams; a two month exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, London; and 100 Samsung Galaxy Nexus phones.”

Nikon D3S Used By NASA To Capture Earth At Night

NASA have captured amazing HD video with a Nikon DS3 from footage shot on board the International Space Station. The video clips were created from time-lapse stills of Earth at night and feature the Aurora Borealis and Australis. You can see the original still images on NASA’s ‘The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth‘ website.  With some investigation work using Photoshop it shows that they were shot on a Nikon DS3 with a 14-24mm F2.8 lens.
